A hydraulic cylinder is a mechanical actuator that is used to give a unidirectional force through a unidirectional stroke.
It has many applications, notable in construction equipment, manufacturing machinery, elevators and civil engineering.
A hydraulic cylinder is a hydraulic actuator that provides linear motion when hydraulic energy is converted into mechanical movement.
It can be likened to a muscle in that, when the hydraulic system of a machine is activated, the cylinder is responsible for providing the motion.

The hydraulic cylinder consists of a cylinder barrel, in which a piston connected to a piston rod moves back and forth.

The piston has sliding rings and seals. The piston divides the inside of the cylinder into two chambers, the bottom chamber and the piston rod side chamber.

The surface finish of the cylinder barrel is typically 4 to 6 micro inch.
Honing process and skiving& Roller burnishing process are the two main types of processes for manufacturing cylinder tubes.
The piston reciprocates in the cylinder.
The cylinder barrel has features of smooth inside surface, high precision tolerance, durable in use, etc.
